We are a married couple, proud parents of two sons under 3 years of age. While our children
have profoundly deepened our connection, it was deep from the very beginning as a
function of our shared beliefs that the ultimate force for sustainable positive change is
business.









We are fascinated with the kinds of products you find on these pages – products that, in
addition to excellently satisfying their primary purposes, actually effect positive changes in
the world, real change. These are products of better thinking, products with heart.  Purchase
of and support for these products is support for collective success; everyone wins by our
purchases.   We need to move beyond “social responsibility” to “social benefit”; it’s not just
about products not “doing bad” – it’s about products creating real good.

We believe that the intentional use of our dollars, and the exercise of the authority we have
as consumers, can be an enormously effective means for us as individuals to reward and
encourage better thinking and better ways. Furthermore, we believe that if better thinking is
well rewarded by our (and, hopefully, many others’) deliberate consumer support,
increasingly more and more businesses will imitate and seize upon better thinking as a
marketing tactic.  We like to imagine what could happen if the competition in business, at
all levels, evolved to require benefits that extend beyond the performance of the purchased
product or service.  Indeed, it’s possible to truly visualize not only a better world, but a
world that keeps getting better everyday – as the competition continues to grow.  After all,
business is ultimately the service of self-interest; other than love, is there any more
renewable resource on this planet? Please join us in rewarding better thinking while creating
more competition and support the enterprises on these pages with your dollars, as expressed
by purchases or even donations, and your consumer authority, as expressed by your
participation in recommendations. When you click on the “purchase” button, you will be

transactions or gains. We’re doing this for our sons and the world they’ll inherit; it’s in our
self-interest, after all.

I am Jono, 58, husband, father, long-time social entrepreneur and business strategist. I am
consumed by the potential for social change that exists at the intersection of traditional
business and societally significant goals. I am driven by a twist in logic that makes me
believe that things can be good, with yet another twist that makes me believe that there’s no
limit to how good or at what scale. My central belief in business, as in life itself, is that
transformation to a higher state is only a good idea away.  By orders of magnitude,
however, my best idea ever was to ask Season to marry me and be the mother of my (only)
children.

I am Season, 34, wife, mother, consultant, optimist, realist.  Through years of work in the
non-profit world, I’ve come to the conclusion that, while functional, the current system for
funding “good work” is far from optimal.  There’s a better way and I believe it lies in the
emerging world of social enterprise…the mixture of profit and social purpose.  I’m
committed to using my education (BA from Harvard and MBA from Yale) and capabilities
to make “social enterprise” products not just known but actively sought after by the oft-
mentioned “mass market
.”  I believe that, when given a chance to do good while fulfilling
one’s own need, that’s the choice people will make.  I hope you prove me right. This
snapshot would not be complete without mentioning that, by orders of magnitude, my
greatest learnings come from my marriage and my mothering.
